I came back here and realized that I didn’t update this blog for a week already. Time creeps up so fast. And week by week it just goes by. Lately, I don’t seem to be able to find enough time on daily basis to finish the things I need to do. I have a lot of things to blog about but I have no time to type them out.
A quick update on us:
My son started pre-school on July 29th. And he goes to the school 4 times a week on Mon, Tue, Thurs and Friday from 12:20pm to 3:20pm. It usually takes me about 10 minutes to get to the school’s parking area. Then I park the car, walk him to the school and wait for the teachers to come out and take the class inside with them. Then I walk back to my car and drive away. If I go home right away, it will be a 30 minutes round trip. But most of the time, I will stop by to do some errand here and there. Usually I have a good 1.5 hour at home before having to leave again to pick him up.
My Hubby is busy as always. It seems to me he is only not too busy one week out of the month. This is funny conversation I had with him recently.
Me: “This week you busy ah?”
Hubby: “Yes, this week is closing week for the month.”
Me: “But we are in the middle of the month now.”
Hubby: “Ya, they pushed the closing to a week later.”
Me: “But last week you were busy too.”
Hubby: “Last week busy because we were preparing for this week closing.”
Me: “Ehh, but then you told me the week of Aug 23rd to 29th you won’t be able to leave work because is the closing.”
Hubby: “That is the closing week mar.”
Me: “Just close only then close again so fast??!?!”
Hubby: *silence*
So ya, he is always busy.
And about me? Been moody lately because I don’t seem to be able to finish anything I wanted to. Still have things to unpack and I don’t know when I will get into those. There is always cleaning needed around this house. So much dust! We have been eating at home a lot (a lot of cooking and washing dishes) because we had too much eating out when my sister and nephew were here. Trying to settle in is not easy. It will be a long way more before I really feel 100% settled in at this place.

I am unhappy when people break my things. Why can’t they take care of things that belong to others in a well manner? That’s why I seldom and afraid to lend my things to anyone. Not just friends, even with the family I am afraid that they will break my things. Sometimes is not the value of the item but the memory that it has with it.

That’s me! … at Disney World Magical Kingdom at night. My sister took the picture for me. I took one of hers too. We use a trash can there as a tripod to stable our shaky hands. The pictures turned out good. That night, the Disney World opened till 2am especially for Disney Resort Residents only. After both of our kids went to bed around 10pm, my Hubby stayed at the hotel with them while the two of us went back to the theme park ourselves. We finished many rides that night and stayed till 2am. It is fun to be there without the kids and the sun.

Our escrow will be closing tomorrow for this cute cottage home in Irvine.
It is small cosy little house with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The living area sqft is around 1200sqft. It has a living room, dining area, family room, kitchen, a full bathroom and a 3/4 bathroom (shower). What we love most about this is the house located at the end. It is quiet and more private. The front yard is small and need minimal maintenance. It has a alley garage with a private driveway because our house is the last one.
This is a single level home with no attached walls. Most homes in this neighborhood are condominiums with attached walls. Some of these homes are pretty expensive too, over 600K even with attached walls. This home of ours, has a private side yard facing the blind side of the neighbor. It has mature small trees and flowers. Very nice indeed. We are planning to buy a small patio set and then we can have breakfast in our very nice yard.
We can’t wait to be living there!

We’ll be moving to a new neighborhood in a few weeks! The escrow transaction is coming to an end and we should get our keys before end of this week. The seller will do the termite after the close of escrow as the seller’s agent couldn’t get them there sooner and our interest rate lock is goin to expire on the 29th. So we decided to close escrow on 28th to make sure everything get done before the 29th.
This is a big adventure to us as it is a new county and new city to both of us. I’ve move several times while living in LA. My previous experience include living in San Pedro, Whittier and Gardena. And for my Hubby, he has been in Gardena all his life. This is his first big move. We are looking forward to it.
The house we are moving is slightly smaller than our current house with only 2 bedrooms instead of 3. It will have about 1200sqft while our current house is 1350sqft. But I like the neighborhood and the private side yard. With our current house, our front yard and backyard is not really private at all. The houses behind us is two storeys and they are able to oversee our backyard. The schools in our new place have very high rating. The city was selected for one of the safest city in America and one of the best to bring up family.
There will be a few minor work to be done before we really move in. Now the headache part … is to pack the stuff I have here. I’ve collected so much junks and stuff within the last 10 years. I still remember how empty this house was when we first move in in Sep 2000.

Hello 2010! Now that I am saying ‘Hello to 2010′, 2011 won’t be too far away from today. LOL!
After a long week of lazying around the house and doing very little, now I am back to the weekly schedule and chores around the house. As Chinese New Year is approaching, a lot of cleaning and organizing has to be done around the house again. This time, I will pack away some stuff that I don’t use anymore. Who knows, we may be moving away and selling our home. Have to make the house looks nice and presentable if we are planning to sell it, so have to store away all the junks.

Another year came and went by just like that. Time passing by faster when you are having fun. Is that true? May be half half. I think it went by fast because we are so busy everyday with nice things and not so nice things as well. When you have a child and a husband, you will be busy (especially if you don’t get outside help).
What did I accomplished in 2009? Nothing much but there are a few things that I wanted to jot down which I did in 2009.
- Traveled to Maui for the first time in Jan 09.
- My son turned 3 year-old in Mar 09 and he started pre-school towards the end of the month.
- SIL met someone special from eHarmony in Apr 09 and at this time, they are still together.
- Family Cruise from Vancouver to Whittier on Island Princess in May 09.
- Visted my dad and sister in Australia for the very first time since they moved there (end of May to Jun 09).
- Met Grace and her family for the first time in Jun 09.
- Organized a beach picnic for a few families from Mommy & Me Classes in July 09.
- Traveled again and this time back to Malaysia to visit my aunty and brother, Aug 09.
- Son went back to pre-school end of Sep 09 (Fall term).
- Went to Legoland for the first time in Oct 09.
- Quiet Christmas at home Dec 09. Usually we would have been in Las Vegas.
- Last but not least, on Dec 31st 2009, this day will be our 10th year Wedding Anniversary.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and I love you. Thank you for being with me during the ups and downs. Thank you for taking care of Brandon so that I can have a nice and peaceful night out with the other Mommies. Thank you for the holidays we had during the year. Thanks for planning the romantic steak house dinner for two as my Christmas gift, which I suggested to be postponed because I do not want to over-eat during this holiday season. Thank you for everything. LOVE YOU!

Got a haircut for my new look. My hair has been so flat. I have very thin hair and no volume. And with winter coming, I need something short so I don’t have to take too long to dry the hair after washing. The last hair cut I had was when I was in KL, so it was like 3 to 4 months ago.
I’ve decided to go back to the Korean Hair Salon in Torrance on Sepulveda. Their hair cut is at $35 plus tips including washing. I like it because I don’t really need to make appointment. I can just walk in and ask for a hair cut which will take about 30-40 minutes. I am not picky about which hairdresser I use anyway. I just need a nice hair cut and for the last three times I’ve been there, I like it although is a bit on the pricey side.
*drum roll* please …

I wish I weigh less than 50kg, but that is not what I am going to talk about. I am actually counting the days to our new year - 2010! Yes, believe it or not, we are less than 50 days away from the new year of 2010. Actually, it will also be our 10th wedding anniversary on the new year eve. Can’t believe we’ve been married for almost 10 years. I don’t feel it as long.
Anyway, it will be busy for us from now till the early Jan 2010. We have Thanksgiving coming up next week. Brandon will have no school the whole week and I have to plan something to keep him busy and out of the house. Then on Friday after Thanksgiving will be the big shopping day for us.
Brandon’s last day at the preschool will be on Dec 2nd. They do not begin another term until mid of January. It will be a long holiday for them and again, I have to put together a new schedule for him. I might sign him up for other class (music/gym?) if it is available.
Then we have the Christmas week. Hubby has the whole week off and we may visit Las Vegas again this year, but I haven’t made any booking yet because he still not sure which day he will need to be back at work for one day. Oh ya, almost forgot, my dentist appointment should be in that week as well. We are going to be very busy!
I am not really ready for 2010 yet … are you?

Gosh, I just noticed how flat my hair is after posting the previous post with my picture. I think I need to get something done with it. Too flat and it makes me look very ugly. The previous haircut I had at One Utama (Infinity Hair Salon) wasn’t too good. It only stayed good for the first month. Usually the hair cut I had in LA can last me for 6 months, even though the price is higher (after conversion). I might have to go back to the Korean Hair Salon again before Christmas to get a new haircut.
