Moments in My Life

Australian dollar plummeted

Australian dollar plummeted

When I was back in Malaysia during June and July this year, the Australian exchange was RM3.08 to AUD1.00. More than a month ago it was RM2.83 to AUD1.00. A month ago it was RM2.41 to AUD1.00. Now is only RM2.21 to AUD1.00. I wasn’t expecting the Australian dollar to fall so drastically. My father was telling me how it will go higher when we met up while in KL.

It hurt me as well because I have some money in my sister’s Australian bank account. For me, I wasn’t following the world’s economy much. There are too many other things that keep me busy on my daily life. I hardly have anytime for TV. Even watching the public channel news here will not gain much insight of the world’s economy as the local news only reports what is happening locally as in Los Angeles only news. Unless we are watching the cable channels which we don’t subscribe to. So I didn’t know that this was going to be that bad.

I really feel bad for those who lives in Australia now because I know several bloggers from there including my sister and my father too. Their economy is not going too good and many employees may lose their jobs because of this.

Free 30 days trial merchant account

If I ever own any business, I will definitely get a merchant account to accept credit cards.  I know how widely credit cards are being used nowadays especially for online transactions. Probably I will sign up with Merchant Advisors they offer a 30 days free trial. They also offer next day merchant funding by processing online. On top of that, you may able to get a free terminal for signing up. There is no contract to be signed and can be canceled anytime. This is convenient just in case if something happened and I can’t continue the business, and there is no penalty to close down the merchant account.

Is he married?

A long time friend of mine got involved with a guy whom was married. He lied to her about his wife and told her he’s single. It was too late when my friend found out that he has his family and that his wife was demanding for him to leave my friend. My friend was so sad and went into depression.

If she would have accessed and checked that man’s Marriage Records before she went too deep into her relationship, she would easily found out about his status. For future, when any of you are going out with any guy, check his status at Public Online Marriage Records first. I tried it with my own name and found it listed there.

P R K O S O N G

The Google PR for this blog is officially K O S O N G (zero).  It happened this morning.  I realized the gray opps list suddenly went shorter.  Then I went to check the PR from their website.  Yup … is PR 0 now.  Good thing is I don’t have to be bother to look for opps to write because there will not be much for us with K O S O N G.  But that also means that my blogging income will be reduced big time.  Guess is time to concentrate to write about my own stuff.

Starting an Online Store

To be financially independent is what most people are looking for.  As for a full time stay at home mom like myself, I also yearn to be financially independent if possible.  It is very difficult for me to be able to work full time outside our home if no one is there to help caring for my child.  But I also learn there are many ways to earn some extra income while staying at home with my child.  One of them is starting an Online Business.

If I ever want to start an online business, I would probably be opening an Online Baby Store selling products for baby and toddler. As a mom myself, I love shopping online for baby products from the convenient of my own home. I do not have to drive out to the mall to purchase the items I want. I can also make comparison between the online stores to make sure my purchase is of the best value. So I definitely think this online business concept is possible and may bring in a good income.

But before I can start an online business, there are many things that I need to research for the website. Although I can pay someone else to do the whole package for me, but I rather learn it myself. I love to learn new things. And one of the most important component of an online business if how you want to receive your payment. There are many ways a buyer can pay for an order - credit card, electronic check, paypal or others. To set this up, I may engage the help from Orbit Payments from Global Funding Alliance.

Their credit card processing rate is low, only at 7.45%. Not to mention that they offer professional and secure solution to how the payment is processed and handled. Another feature they provide is weekly payouts, only a single week in arrears. This way will help my online business to grow much faster. There are many more features which I can’t finish explaining here. But you can always read more about this on their website.  They also provide a demo if any of you are interested to test their system out.

I know it is not as easy as it seems to start an online business as there are many other areas that I have to look into beside this. I will have to put in a lot of time for research and setting up before my online store actually able to open to the public.

DirMania Free Web Directory

Since the boost in internet technology and searches, I believe businesses should be online as well. I know I spend most of the time searching online for anything or any services I am looking for instead of the yellow book. Yellow book is so old age now to me.

It is not difficult to set up a one page business website to let the consumers or visitors to the link know about the nature of your business in a few sentence with the contact information, include an email if you can. Then you can submit this link to DirMania which offers free web directories online. If your listing meets their requirement, your link will be active within the next 24 hours. It is easy and now when people like myself do a search for anything that may be related to your business nature, the link may show up.

Don’t ruin your credit

Credit scores are so important living in America. This is the way, lenders evaluate prospective borrower when they submit application for loans, credit cards and even for apartments. If a person has bad credit, he or she may get a higher interest rate or worse the loan application may be rejected by the lender.

What I do to maintain my good credit standing is to make sure I make my credit card payments and any other payments (rent, utilities, and such) on time. That is crucial as it will show on the credit history. Another way is to make sure we don’t over spend what we don’t earn.  If you need to learn more about bad credit and ways to fix it, you may want to click on the link above to find the answers.
