Hubby works for Northrop Grumman. His company had an Open House two Saturdays ago on 9/13. There were free rides and games for kids. For adults, each has to pay $2. With the coupon, we got a free items. This year we got two messenger bags. We don’t usually use it, ends up donating it away end of the year.
We arrived at 10:50am. We stopped to collect my name tag, since Hubby used his badge while Brandon didn’t need one. After that, we went to collect the free messenger bag. There were free drinks stalls and ice cream (only 4 types to choose from) vans everywhere. Hubby started off with an ice cream bar. I didn’t have any. We walked around the children rides and games area (no picture). Brandon wasn’t too interested in the rides anyway, so we went to get some food.
The lunch meal wasn’t ready until 11:30am so we went and got hotdogs. One for each of us. Brandon likes hotdogs with ketchup. He had the whole hot dog minus half the bun. By then, he was full. But I wasn’t. So I went to que for the lunch meal. When the lines were opened, I got a bit of salad, fruits, a BBQ tri tip roast, a bit of BBQ chicken and a few cookies. I like the sugar cookies. While we were eating, I saw a Mommy from our parenting class with her boy and husband. We sat together for a little while and enjoyed the music entertainment on the stage.
We left at 12pm and headed to Launching Pad, the daycare/preschool in the company’s compound. They were having open house as well to allow parents to drop by to check out their facility. It is a very nice school but the fees are very steep. Pre-school for 3 yr old full time is around $850/month. I would have to come out to work if we are sending our boy here for pre-school.
Here are some random pictures I took at the Open House.

Alamak! My careless husband has let a spyware/adware infected his computer. He didn’t let me know about it until a day later when I noticed the desktop wallpaper has changed into something like an ad. Then only he told me, he ‘thinks’ that his computer is infected by spyware and he has downloaded a program to fix it. But actually the program only help to scan the computer. So he had deleted the supposedly infected files himself. But yet the spyware is still actively running.
The first thing I try to do is to get into the Computer’s Registry for running program. I clicked ctrl+alt+del … but the computer didn’t let me go in, even I was logged on as the Administrator of the PC. The spyware must have changed the command. DAMN! (sorry, I hate to use this word but it is really how I feel) Immediately I had the feeling that I need to reformat the hard drive to fix the problem. Luckily, I don’t think I have much needed data in it as since a year ago, I’ve switched over to using only my laptop. And I do have a external hard drive which I keep all my pictures. But to reformat the HD is a hassle. And it may take up to a full a day formating and installing back all the Window XP operating system, drivers, programs … etc.
You must be thinking, why not let my husband do it? Isn’t it suppose to be a guy’s job to get technical with the PC? The answer here is NO! My man doesn’t know much about computer. All he knows how to do is USE it. When you get into the hard ware … it is ME! I can do much more than he does with computer. I don’t know why I know how to do it … but I guess I learn. Also partly because my father. He used to know a lot about computer but not anymore now. Computer technology evolves too fast like rocket. I’ve seen him doing and fixing … but instead acting ‘this is not my business, I don’t need to learn‘ … I stood beside my father and observed what he did. I actually learn a lot of things by observing others doing them.
Anyway … for me, I ask around my friends for help if needed … or search online to get help. But with my man … if he doesn’t know, and doesn’t need the knowledge, he won’t know it.
I spent close to 4 hours to try to find solution to it. One thing I found was the spyware infected his PC is called ZEDO. No good. It is somehow difficult to remove manually. I followed some of the steps found through online search, but they didn’t work. I tried searching another solution online, also didn’t work. So now I’ve basically decided that reformatting the HD will be the best bet to remove the spyware wholely. Now … where can I find extra time to spare for this job?
Edit: I already reformatted his C drive and installed the Window XP Professional Operating System. Took one night of my time.

Happy 8.8.08 everyone. Feeling extra lucky today? Anything special happened? Win any lottery or 4 digit (Empat ekor)?
For us, it was just another ordinary Friday. With the exception that we got to watch the Olympic on NBC channel. Towards the end of the broadcast of the Beijing Olympic 2008, we had a short conversation.
Daddy: Wah today 8.8.08, sure a lot of people getting married.
Mommy: Yalar, very superstitious mar … fatt fatt fatt, especially for Chinese people.
Daddy: I bet a lot of people want to have their baby born today. May be get induced so the baby come today.
Mommy: Induced also doesn’t mean can arrive today, sometimes it takes very long even after induction.
Daddy: What would you name our baby if born today?
Mommy: Hmm … Wong Fatt … Ehh … better still … Wong Ling Fatt! (Ling Fatt = zero eight = 08)
Mommy: Reminds me of ‘Ling Ling Fatt’, the special agent Stephen Chow.

We are trying to save up more money for a down payment of a new home. I think my husband and I probably need to sit down one night (after son sleeps) and put our financial planning together to see how much we have now and how long more to go before we have enough down payment for the new place.
Lucky for us, we are able to manage our own finances and we owe nothing except the mortgage. I know some other people whom don’t even know what is saving up for the rainy days. Someone I know spends as much as he earns. Even he was making a lot of money, he doesn’t know where his money goes. He almost busted all his credit cards and now he only manage to pay the monthly minimum. He doesn’t own a home which is sad but he can’t afford it. I think the best way is for him to have Debt Relief Help from some place like Freedom Debt Relief.
Freedom Debt Relief offers a 10 free minutes of consultation at their toll free number. After the consultation, if you feel they are the company that you can work with to help with your situation, you should sign up and let them assist you with the financial debt problem. With them working with you, you can be out of debt within 12-36 months. They also can help to lower what you owe by as much as 50%. I am thinking to recommend this place to my friend and I do hope he will get things work out or else, one day he may need to file for bankruptcy which I hate to say.

The 5 weeks break from being at a full time housewife is heavenly. For that 5 weeks, I hardly cooked at all (except a few times I made pasta for the kids). I did not have to do any chores, no cleaning, no dusting, no cooking, no driving. As for laundry, we shared this chore between my sister and I. But most of the time my sister did it. And sometimes my aunt help with the laundry too as we were busy caring our sons. Thank you kammo!! Most of the time, our laundry is folded by my aunt’s maid, Tini. Thank you Tini!
Now I am back being a full time housewife and a part timer blogger. I have to blog, clean, plan what to cook, cook, dust, research for groceries sales, cut coupons, buying groceries, wash laundry, fold laundry, etc etc … hmmm … actually I think I would prefer to go back to KL to continue my break for another month or longer. LOL!

Wife saw Hubby ‘gwai gwai shui shui‘ behind the sink in the kitchen. Conversation took place in Cantonese, translated in English.
Wife: What you doing behind the sink? I thought you were washing the milk bottle.
Hubby: Eating the grapes. I read your blog saying no one eats the grapes so I eating now.
Wife: You got wash or not?
Hubby: Got, you think I don’t know how to rinse the grapes before eating meh.
Conclusion: It’s better for me to I blog than to talk about the things I want him to listen. LOL!

Earlier when Hubby was taking a bite on a small piece of Hershey chocolates, Brandon asked for some. He liked it so much and he kept asking for more. I was OK with that.
After I was done with feeding Brandon his dinner, and washing off the other dishes in the sink, I took out a piece of chocolate and opened its tight package above the sink so I wouldn’t get crumbs on the floor. Hubby and Brandon was inside the room and Hubby saw doing something over the sink. Then he said to Brandon, “See Mama eating something very nice, go go see what she is eating.”
Upon hearing his Daddy said so, Brandon ran towards me to see what I was eating. And upon hearing Hubby said that, I quickly gobbled up the piece of chocolate because I knew Brandon would come running this way and I didn’t want him to eat another piece of chocolate.
Man, can’t I enjoy my piece of chocolate in peace? Sometimes he just says the wrong thing at the wrong time. He thought it was funny but it wasn’t. I might choke on the piece of chocolate. *sigh*

During Black Friday sales, we were looking for deals on Artificial Christmas Trees. We didn’t buy any although there were several good deals. Hubby prefers a 4 - 5 feet ‘real’ looking ones with nice life-looking needles. He is pretty picky about this. And those that fit into his likeness are huge and very expensive, definitely not fitting in our budget for a Christmas tree.
Over the weekend, he decided to check with Sister-in-law to see if she has any extra tree which we can borrow and she did. We borrowed a 3′ tree from her and Hubby put on all the Christmas decorations including the lights and ornaments. Brandon tried to help but he was throwing the ornaments everywhere instead of putting them up on the tree.
Here is a picture of our Christmas tree and decoration next to the fire place in our living room. Now who else has a Christmas tree picture to share with us?
