Brandon don't behave that way when we met up.
Generally, kids this age is like that... even my Darrius is extremely defiance. Very 'em-ten-kong'. The more we tell him not to do the more he will do so ah can be very stressful for me.

Darrius also loves throwing things when he is unhappy or when we scold him. He even hit my MIL because he don't like her. He will drive his car and bang my MIL on purpose... so I really don;t know what to do with him sometimes.

I guess Brandon just need more time to learn to speak clearly... after all, he's not even 5 yet so things might change in the next few months.

Something that I have to look into because when he is in the class, he is the only one that doesn't listen to the teachers. There is another girl in the class who speak ONLY cantonese, but she still behaves very good. I really headache about him, and don't know what to do with him. Trying to play more games with him, but he is not interested in following rules and he stops playing as we were explaining the rules.

Will see how with the LAUSD interview/evaluation. They just called and told me they mailed out the package recently and expect it to arrive within the next 10 business days.

I think Brandon's normal because Lucas is just like that too e.g. the ignoring of instructions, defiance and aggressive towards other kids.

From an English teacher aka linguist, I wouldn't worry too much about the speech either because:
a) the consonants take a while longer than the vowels and
b) speech development is generally slower in boys :)

I think it's great Brandon can say 3-syllable words and speak English and Cantonese! And Cantonese is one of the MOST difficult languages to learn, you know?

Lucas still pronounces "ah-pul",not "eh-pul" and "air-puh-lane", not "air-ro-plane" and "the Queen" instead of "McQueen" and lots more. Will post later because I wanna remember his cute lisps and mispronunciations.

I'm not in a hurry to correct him because he's growing up so fast and with the TV and reading sessions, he corrects himself as he goes along or the teachers do it...

Thank you for sharing your experience. It worries me because that's why we wanted to get help ASAP. Will see what they say after his interview/evaluation.

Ah my dear friend, I believe every kids is different and have their own behaviour and characteristic.

The child climb or run or play, they are just child. But if a child is taking over your authority, and do not obey, you will need to be strict and do not spare the rod.

I think being aggressive is trying to grab attention and don't like to share things with others.

You got use rotan to teach? I think if a child is not obeying, we should be strict and rotan to teach. Then explain why mummy rotan...then sayang sayang again...

Here cannot use rotan, or else i will probably be arrested for abusing the kid. LOL! that's why i don't own one because it will be hard not to use it if i have one. i don't know how, i will probably need to seek help for this matter.
