Moments in My Life

Automatic “Sorry”

Automatic “Sorry”

My son can say “sorry” most of the time now … ‘automatically‘.  This just started last week.  Prior to that, I would have to ask for an apology all the time when he accidentally hurt me.  I always told him, “You have to say ‘sorry‘ willingly by yourself … like automatic.  You must not let me tell you to say sorry then only you will say.“

Then it happened, after many months of me reminding him, he now says it willingly by himself.  And he always looks for a praise from me after he said that.  But usually I will give him a smile instead of an angry stare.

Scene

He accidentally stepped on my shin.  That’s so painful.  I told him, “Ho thong!! (painful)”  And he was afraid I was going to scold him, quickly he said, “Sorry … “  while looking at me.  Then I told him, “OK, ngor moh lau lay. (I won’t scold you)”  He smiled and said, “… Brandon automatic.”

Would I go back to Maui?

Of course I would. I highly recommend this vacation spot to anyone, young or old, single or family. You should visit Maui at least once and you will find that you will want to return for a second time. I know we would. We love the beach, ocean and the friendly people. It is very peaceful and relaxing for us. We had such a wonderful time even though we brought a long our little 3 year old toddler. He had a blast during out trip and he can even spell M-A-U-I now.

The next time we visit, we will definitely be going back to a Maui Resort located on the Ka’anapali Beach, which is on the west side of the island. Although it is about 45 minutes drive from the airport or the city of Kahului, but you can find everything here in Lahaina. There is even a mall there which you can do some shopping.

Picture_2This past trip we went, I missed out trying the spa. So the next time around, I will definitely book a spa service. I will also be looking into children activities. The hotel we stayed the last time, doesn’t offer FREE children activity. But now I know Ka’anapali Resort does provide programs for children. They will treat the kids as VIP guests. They have this special program called “Aloha Passport for Kids” for all children 12 years and younger. The program mainly has two groups, one for children 6 to 12 years and another for 3 to 5 years. Some of the activities include hula lessons, lauhala weaving, and flower lei making. Children who are 2 years and younger can sign up for a passport card with their name in Hawaiian plus they will get a beach bucket filled with fun toys to enjoy at the beach. So everybody will get to have fun during the vacation.

We definitely have to finish our Hana Highway drive the next time we go. We only did a quarter way during our last trip. We have to be more prepared the next time around to make sure we have proper gear for the trail hike as well as some snacks and water with us all the time. Hopefully the next time we go back to Maui we will get more families to join us. May be my sister or my cousin or my aunt would like to join us and meet us there? *wink*
