Toddler being crankly

Since Monday, I have been having a hard time with Brandon.  He has been extremely difficult once or two times a day.  I tried to be calm and talk nicely to him, he just won’t budge.  I had to get real firm and raise my voice and sometimes a spank on his butt to get him see the point.  I don’t like to do that, and I don’t like him not to listen either.  I can’t leave him screaming or crying while I go along and do my own things.  He just won’t stop.  Of course I gave him a hug later after he calm back down.

But lately, every little things seem to get in his way and he will basically cry for no reason.  I will say to him, “Cho meh see moh see ham?“  (Why are you crying for no reason?)  And he has been throwing his toys to the floor when he is angry/upset.  I always tell him that I will throw away the toy away if he throws it again, and he never listen … and I always throw it to the trash and he go and pick it up.  Or sometimes he cries and ask me not to throw it away.

There is a new habit I see in him too.  He is getting to a stage that he doesn’t want to eat his favorite food.  For example, I ask him if he wants a banana (as I was peeling), he says no, so I eat it myself.  He will scream and ask me not to eat it and to close the skin back.  And when I throw the skin into the trash, he cries because he wants me to pick up the skin.  I ask him many times why he doesn’t want me to eat the banana, he doesn’t give me an answer.

As I am typing this, he is walking around the house holding his one daily gummy bear vites and doesn’t want to eat it.  I know it is delicious, so I told him if he doesn’t eat it, he won’t be able to taste the goodness in the food.  I also told him, like if he doesn’t eat it, the worm will; if it falls down the floor then the hair will be stuck and he can’t eat it; it will disintegrate into air and others things I can think of.  He is still holding it.

Walk with me for BeeWell Miles

Do you run or walk everyday? You know it is not good to be sitting in front of the computer all day right? You need to get out of the house or your office and enjoy the fresh air and scenery. For example, instead of driving to the fast food restaurant by the corner of the block, why not walk there? I know I will. I love to walk a lot. I used to walk a lot when I was in college. I walked everywhere (most of the time) back then as I did not have a car.

Now, I go out for a walk or a stroll with my little boy. We walk around our neighborhood a few times a week. It is a short walk, probably around 1 mile round trip. Sometimes we run chasing each other. It is fun we get to do some exercise while helping out a good cause. Yes, I am walking for BeeWell Miles sponsored by Bumble Bee Foods LLC. From April 1st 2009 to October 31st 2009, Bumble Bee Food will donate $0.15 per mile (up to $200,000) to the Breast Cancer Network of Strength.

You can also find other helpful information from BeeWell Miles website. There is the ‘Easy Moves‘ section with Coach Jenny where you can read interesting articles about health benefits through walking and running. There is the ‘Wise Choices‘ section with Willow and Stephanie where you can pick up a few tips on diet and nutrition, which I really enjoy reading.

So, come and join me at BeeMiles, staying healthy at the same time contributing to a good cause.
