Trips to the Museums

Trips to the Museums

Last two weeks we’ve visited two most beautiful museums in Los Angeles.  As I’ve posted in a previous post dated May 13th 2008 with the title - ‘Last Saturday 5/10 Part 1‘, the picture of the building on top of the hill is the J. Paul Getty Center in Los Angeles located adjacent to the city of Brentwood. No reservation is needed but we have to pay $8 per car for parking.

A tram took us up from the parking structure to the Getty Center up the hill. It was a nice ride as we were able to view some of the most expensive homes in Los Angeles across 405 freeway. When we arrived at the top of the hill, we were amazed by the architectural presented in front of our eyes. It was difficult for us to tour the whole facility as our son prefers to be at the outdoor enjoying the fountain architecture as well as the beautiful Garden.  We could have easily spent our whole day there viewing the different exhibits but we didn’t because we had to go according to our son’s nap time.  We will definitely return again in near future.

Then the last Friday we visited another museum in Malibu.  I will blog about this one in another post with more pictures.  But we really enjoy visiting museums now.  We hope to tour more of them as the time comes. This is one thing we must do when we are visiting other states in America.

I have come to know several museums around the States that are worth visiting. One of them is Stark Museum of Art. This museum offers free admission. It is located on 712 Green Avenue, Orange, Texas 77630. This museum explores the art of the American West including the American Indian Art, Western Art, Decorative Arts, Rare Books and Manuscript. This museum was established by the Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation which also sponsors programs at the Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center and many other local foundations. If I happen to be in city of Orange in Texas, I will definitely drop by this museum as well as the Shangri La Botanical Gardens.
