A very beautiful botanical garden
One of my father’s friends always visits Houston because he has a business there. He flies in here from Malaysia once or twice a year. He would stop in Los Angeles for a few days to visit his home here in the Beverly Hills and then fly down to Houston to attend to his business. If I remember correctly, he is dealing with the ‘teak’ furnishing business, importing from Malaysia and neighboring countries. When I met him last time, he told me about a beautiful botanical garden in Houston area which is so serene and peaceful which he spent a day when he was down in Houston. And if I have the chance or if I am in the vicinity, I should go and visit this place called Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center. It is about 110 miles and a little less than 2 hours drive from Houston.
I love botanical gardens and we always visit the one by our home the South Bay Botanical Garden. But when I was viewing the Shangri La Gardens and Nature Center’s website, I can tell you immediately this place offers more than just a botanical garden. You can find an array of mammals, epiphytes, plants, reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects, and more. This place also offers different programs for children to enjoy and learn about our nature.
