Toddler Swimming Class
Back in January I saw an ad for a new swimming facility in South Bay area. It is called the South Bay Aquatics Swim School. We went by that weekend to check it out. Only then we found out the facility was still under remodeling. They would be open for registration mid of February and lessons to start March 10th. The facility is new and very clean. What I like about this place is the heated swimming pools are indoor with controlled room temperature which is good for our winter/spring weather.
A few of the other moms from our toddler’s class signed up for their Baby N Me swimming lesson. I just signed up yesterday for today’s class. Told Hubby to stop by after work yesterday evening to pick up a swim diaper and to pay the class fee. $75 for 5 weeks with 1 lesson a week from 11:15am to 11:45am. At the end of the class, students are allowed to practice and play in the pool for another 30 minutes.
We went this morning and was lucky to find the LAST parking space there, or else I would have to park down the street if I was lucky enough to find a spot by the street. Remind myself to go earlier next week. When we arrived, Brandon was getting a little nervous and almost didn’t want to get inside the building. But I asked if he wants to swimming, and he answered ‘YES!’ It was when we were in the changing room then he started to cry.
He cried on and off during the class. I think mostly is because he saw so many new faces. He is not too good with strangers. But he enjoy when we sand the ‘Baby in the Pool’ version of ‘Wheel on the Bus’. Then he enjoyed the most during the play time when the teachers threw in different types of toys into the pool. Brandon was playing the the beach ball throwing backward over his head. It was funny.
We left the pool area earlier than the rest, which was good as there were only 4 shower stalls and we were the first to use it. If we waited longer, we might have to wait in line again for the shower. We shower a little bit (because I didn’t bring shampoo/soap), changed and left.
I hope the more we go, the better he will get use to the new surrounding.
