I WON this!!!

Finally my winning prize has arrived at my door.  It came this past Thursday.  The UPS guy dropped it off by the garage door as we were not home at the time.  I came home and saw the box and I knew immediately it was for me. Are you eager to find out what I won?

My Prize

This is my prize! A Hamilton Beach® Eclectrics® All-Metal Mixer.

How did I win this?

Well, I submitted a Hamilton Beach® Eclectrics® Mixer post through Izea about a month ago and with that post I entered the contest sponsored by Hamilton Beach®. I took the post because the pay out was $65 and only required a short 1 minute video upload plus 200 words post. Hubby later thought about his version and took the same opp too, but he didn’t win any prize. Never did I ever thought that post won me this.

After the contest was closed, the sponsor selected 10 most creative videos and mine was one of them. It was two weeks ago we received email from Izea regarding winning this but I wasn’t sure it was for real, that’s why I posted ‘I won something, I think‘.

The prize took longer to arrive. Each winner was invited to take another video opp by Izea and we were supposed to create/produce another video continuing from the story in Part 1. And I just did it on Saturday.

Hosting your own domain

I have came to know many bloggers who started of writing at these free blogger sites but eventually end up with their own domains and hosting. For me, I do feel a little addicted into blogging and have so far enjoy all the people I’ve met through the blogsphere. No harm done.

Why did I want to purchase my own domain? For one thing, I get to use what name I want to for my blog’s URL. Secondly, if you are posting for blog advertising, you may be able to find more opportunities towards blogs with own domains than those at the free blogsites.

When you finally decided to host your own domain, it shouldn’t be that difficult. First you may want to think about a name. You can then check if that name is still available.

Next you may want to compare plans and rates at http://www.webhostingchoice.com for hosting. This site is easy to use and let you decide what you are willing to pay for your monthly cost, disk size, bandwidth and setup fee. After plunging in those numbers, you click the search button and a list of Web Hosting sites and plans will come up. It is that simple.  You can browse the different sites and then decide which web hosting plan you want to sign up with.

For me, I am paying $7 a month for my hosting plan with 300GB of storage and I paid $0 setup fee for it.
