Moments in My Life

That much taxes and fees?!

That much taxes and fees?!

My hand was itchy and did a search for ticket fare to Malaysia.  Guess what I found out?  The total taxes for both of us, me and Brandon, can actually pay for another child’s ticket.  It is a hefty close to $350 a piece.

This fare was quoted online from MAS website for an adult and a child round trip tickets from LAX to KUL in the month of Jan 2008.

Travelers Price

Base Fare (1 adult) = $ 850.00
Base Fare (1 child) = $ 638.00
Taxes and Fees = $ 689.80

Total Price = $ 2177.80 (1088.90 Average per person)

I am actually thinking of visiting Malaysia during coming Chinese New Year, I know if my aunt would be very happy and excited upon reading this post. But man … the taxes and fees are crazy! Even if I purchase an infant ticket for Brandon, the taxes and fees remain the same. I still remember the days where the total taxes and fee were only $100 plus per person.

By the way, anyone knows exact dates for CNY?

“Come join me for heliskiing …

“Come join me for heliskiing,” my friend told me. He really thinks that I am that adventurous. However, I am not. I have height phobia but he didn’t know about it. He has invited me to join him for a trip up north for BC heliskiing on Christmas week. But I won’t be joining him. I know it is fun but this is not the sport for me.

But if any of you are up for this adventure, check it out at Snowwater. It offers the best 1st class heliskiing in British Columbia area with three mountain ranges for you to choose from.  This is the place I would go if I am into this sport.

A nice evening by ourselves

Ahh … Just want to note down, yesterday (Wednesday) we had an evening to ourselves.  The little boy went to dreamland at 8:30pm.  As I am typing this, 8:30am the next day, he is still sleeping soundly in his own room.

What did we do after he went to bed?  We were on our bed …

watching the Pirate of the Caribbean: At World’s End - the last part of the POTC trilogy!

The movie was long - about 2.5 hours.  We had to pause a few times in between as to hang the cloth diapers, attend to little boy when he needed to use the potty, one time he just cried for no reason and another time so Hubby can check his opps.

Ooops … he is waking up now.  I have to go tend to him … will continue this post a little later.

Continue … I don’t know why but everytime I talk about him sleeping, he sure wakes up when I am half way through writing about it. Anyway, we enjoyed the movie very much - I just love to see Captain Jack Sparrow. We finished our movie session around 12am. Then I proceed to the boy’s room and slept with him.  Oops again, I just heard him calling “mama”.
