We are officially in the winter season now. Weather is getting cold, not as ‘extreme’ cold as in Nunavut. However, it is still cold to us. At times like this, it is always comforting to have a bowl of hot soup. An easy to make sure is Miso soup. I have all ingredients available at home and just need minutes to get them ready.
You will need: Miso paste, soft tofu, dried seaweed, chopped green onion (from MIL’s garden).
Steps:
- Soak the dried seaweed.
- Boil a pot of water, usually for two of us, I boil three full bowls of water.
- Dice the tofu in small cube. Chop green onion, leave the stems alone and add them to the water.
- When water is boiling, add in miso paste. Add according to how tasty/salty you like the soup. No salt needed. The miso paste I am using is flavored with salt and msg.
- Stir around the miso to get it dissolve into the water.
- Add seaweed.
- A little later, add tofu.
- Then add a little green onion into the soup.
- Boil about 5 minutes and the soup is ready to serve.
- For garnish, add a little chopped green onion before serving.

My hubby love this soup and usually we have an extra bowl leftover which he will get to finish the next day. It is pretty filling too as I add a lot of tofu and seaweed. Sometimes I will add bigger pieces of tofu which I will spoon out for Brandon to eat with his rice.

Remember I was telling you about my friends whom are planning for their big wedding coming up April 2008? They actually registered their marriage in Las Vegas July this year. Then they flew back to Taiwan last September to have a small wedding dinner with his relatives in Kaoshiung area. They also had their wedding pictures taken while they were there. Their wedding pictures are of the modern style wedding photography, no more like ours - stiff and studio only. They took many outdoor pictures and I only get a chance to several of them. I hope they are planning to use one of those business meeting projector rentals so they can present their wedding pictures in style during the wedding dinner here in Los Angeles.

I receive an email from “a company” and was told I won “a thing“. Was asked to reply to them with my full name, address and phone number and the “thing” will be shipped to me by Fedex/UPS once they received my info. I know this email is valid but I still can’t believe I won. There was this that I’ve won last month and now this “thing“. Am I just so lucky towards the end of 2007? If so, why the pregnancy stick still showing only 1 line *sigh*. Oops sorry on the side track.
Though it is not a big item, but I consider it an early Christmas gift for me! Watch out for the next post about this with pictures when I received the “thing“.
