It was a cold evening when we were about to leave home. Luckily, Brandon had a heavy costume on which would keep him warm throughout the trick or treating trip. Hubby came home early that Wednesday. We left our house around 4:30pm. Brandon was wearing his regular cloth as the Octopus costume was just too bulky to be strapped down with him in the car seat.

First we stopped at the Torrance Halloween Fair. There was still light and Brandon was happily running around the fair. Nothing much for him to play, the games were geared towards older kids. We left after about 20 minutes being there and headed towards Pat & Oscar’s at Del Amo Mall for dinner. After dinner, we cruised inside the mall a little. There were many kids with costumes visiting the stores and collecting candies from them. Brandon wasn’t in his costume so we didn’t do it.

The sky became quite grey when we left the Mall. We arrived at South Torrance around 6pm. There were already many people (w and w/o costumes) walking along the sidewalks trick or treating. This time I remembered to bring a flash light with me which I hung around my neck, while Brandon had two glow-in-the dark sticks which he gladly held on to while walking.

The streets were dark. We walked carefully on the sidewalk. We only managed 1 street back and forth but we did get a lot of candies. Most home owners here decorated their front yards for this festival - very halloweeny.  And a lot of families were sitting  out in their porch or front yard with portable fireplaces and beers/wines, anticipating the trick or treaters.

We finally bought the Hemnes twin/twin bunk bed from Ikea two weeks ago.  Both of us moved from the queen size bed to the twin size bed, I called this downgrading.  I’ve been sharing the bed with him.  We both feel very comfy and cozy sharing a twin bed in this winter weather.

My actual plan is to have him sleeping by his own, hopefully soon.  I am trying to dress his room up so that it looks so much more attractive than a “normal” room.  We put up alphabets wall arts, glow in the dark stars, a toy chest, two wall lights (a star and a moon) next to his bed and a children laundry basket from Ikea.

Next in my plan is the window treatment. I really want a Blackout Roman Fabric Shades so he can sleep longer during the day time nap. Will have to see if we need to have it custom made to fit our window size.
